BP signs EPC, GPF EPCI contracts for Tangguh Train 3 project

British energy giant BP, the operator of the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua, on Thursday signed two major contracts in relation to the expansion of the plant known as the Tanggun Train 3 project.

BP said in a statement that the two contracts were the Onshore LNG Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), and the Offshore GPF Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI). The signing ceremony held at BP?s office in Jakarta was witnessed by Chairman of upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Amien Sunaryadi.

BP said that the Onshore EPC contract was awarded to a consortium led by PT Tripatra, which teams up with Chiyoda, Saipem and Suluh Ardhi Engineering.

Meanwhile, the Offshore EPCI contract was awarded to PT Saipem Indonesia.

The statement said that the construction of the Tangguh Train 3 project will be started at the end of this year, and first production projected in 2020.
