BP to select FEED and EPC contractors for Tangguh expansion

BP Berau Ltd, a unit of oil major BP Plc announced on Monday PQ tender to select FEED and EPC contractors for the Tangguh LNG project expansion in West Papua.
The tender announcement said that BP will elect two onshore LNG FEED contractors to execute FEED works in parallel with a deliverable of FEED scope to become EPC proposal. One of the two FEED contractors will be selected as EPC contractor which scope of work will include engineering, procurement and construction work and certain support services in the commissioning, start-up and early operating phase.
The Tangguh Expansion Project will include Onshore and Offshore facilities, where the Onshore expansion is proposed to include an additional 3.8 Mtpa LNG train, Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF), an additional LNG jetty, LNG storage tank, condensate storage tank, applicable utilities and flares.
The existing facility at Tangguh consists of 2 x 3.8 Mtpa trains of LNG plant, with associated onshore infrastructure, two offshore platforms, pipelines and wells.
Earlier report said that the Tangguh expansion project is expected to become onstream in 2018.
