BP to submit bid for China LNG supply contract Dec. 18

Anglo-American energy giant BP Plc. said that it would submit the bid documentation for the supply of LNG (liquefied natural gas) to China?s industrial province of Guandong on December 18, according to BP Indonesia vice president for external government affairs Satya W. Yudha.
Satya said on Thursday in Surabaya, East Java, that BP would compete with seven other bidders including from Malaysia, Australia, Qatar, Yemen, Iraq and Russia.
He said that the bidders would be short listed on December 30 and the final winner would be announced sometime in February 2002.
BP has been trying to market the vast LN supply from its Tangguh project in the Papua province.(Alex)
