BPH Migas awards gas distribution rights to PGN, Energasindo

Downstream Oil and Gas Regulator BPH Migas on Tuesday officially granted special rights to state-owned gas distributor PT PGN and PT Energasindo Heksa Karya (EHK) for gas distribution network in five regions.
BPH Migas chairman Tubagus Haryono told reporters that the 25-year gas distribution rights were given to PGN for Jakarta, Cirebon, Karawang and Palembang regions, while EHK for Cilegon region.
Tubagus said these special rights will eliminate legal uncertainty for investors who are eager to be involved in gas distribution businesses in the areas.
Tubagus also said BPH Migas will start studying the possibility of giving similar rights to other areas next week. (godang)
