BPH Migas expects only 10 firms to bid for subsidized fuel contract

Tubagus Haryono, chief of the oil and gas downstream authority BPH Migas, said Wednesday that out of 33 companies which have expressed interest to become distributor of subsidized fuels in the country, only 10 are likely to participate in the tender.

?Until Wednesday afternoon, only four companies have (come to BPH Migas to) pick up tender documents including Bumi Asri Prima Pratama, Pertamina, Petrobas, and Patra Niaga,? he said.

?Out of the 33 companies, I think not more than 10 will pick up the tender documents. Why? Because the requirements are tough. The administrative requirement alone must be 100 percent fulfilled,? Tubagus added.

Tubagus said that the firms have until July to prepare necessary documents for the tender and submit it to BPH Migas. (bernard)
