Downstream regulatory body BPH Migas will stick to its schedule to open tender for the development of 260-km gas pipeline that will connect Cirebon and Bekasi, both are located in Central Java, Chairman Tubagus Haryono said Thursday.

Tubagus said the Cirebon-Bekasi line is part of trans- Java common user pipeline project that would link East Java to Banten province.

Tubagus said the pipeline is designed to transport 350-500 MMCFD of gas through 28 ?inch pipeline.

Earlier, BPH Migas had opened tender for the Gresik (E. Java)-Semarang (C. Java) (250kms) and Semarang-Cirebon (230kms) segments, with 19 bidders deemed qualified to submit bids.

Tubagus said the East Kalimantan- Java pipeline segment, which tender is slated to be opened this year may be delayed until further notice due to what he said as ?internal problem?. But Sources said that the decision to delay the tender was because state gas distribution firm demanded right to develop the project as it had spent dollars conducting feasibility study for the project.
