BPHMigas to build Rp 77.93 trillion gas infrastructure

Downstream regulator BPHMigas plans to build a number of gas infrastructure worth about Rp 77.93 trillion between 2012 and 2017 to help solve the shortage of gas supply to domestic market, Kontan reported Thursday

BPHMigas Committee members A. Qoyum Tjandranegara said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the new gas infrastructure would be able to reduce the use of subsidized oil-based fuel by about 17.38 million kiloliters by 2017.

The projects will include the Natuna-West Java pipeline, with a capacity of 1,200 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) and worth Rp 26.39 trillion, the East Kalimantan-East Java pipeline with the capacity of 900 MMSCFD and worth Rp 18.3 trillion; the Cirebon-Semarang pipeline with a capacity of 400 MMSCFD and worth Rp 2.52 trillion, and transmission capacity expansion of the South Sumatera-West Java (SSWJ) I and II pipeline by 100 mmscfd between 2015 and 2017 which will cost Rp 1.36 trillion.
