Downstream regulator BPHMIGAS will hold a public hearing before deciding on the toll fees of two gas pipelines, located in the provinces of South Sumatra and Central Java respectively, according to BPHMIGAS?s Gas Director Umi Asngadah.

The pipeline in South Sumatra is owned by Perusahaan Daerah Pertambangan Dan Energi (PDPDE), a company owned by the South Sumatra provincial administration, while the pipeline in Central Java is owned by the consortium of PT Bakrie & Brothers and state owned firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk, Umi said on Thursday.

?We hope there?ll have been decisions in August,? Umi said.

The South Sumatra pipeline is now being used to supply gas from Jambi Merang PSC operated by JOB Pertamina-Talisman to PLTMG Purwodadi gas engine power plant (8 MW) in Purwodadi Village, Tebing Tinggi District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi Province.

The Central Java pipeline, also known as Kalija I pipeline, is still under construction. It will be used to channel gas from the Kepodang field in Muriah PSC operated by Petronas Carigali Bhd offshore Central Java to PLTGU Tambak Lorok combined cycle power plant in the province?s capital of Semarang.
