BPHMigas to hold tender for gas pipeline projects this year

Downstream oil and gas authority BPHMigas plans to hold tender later this year for the construction of four gas pipeline routes in Lampung, Jambi, Semarang (Central Java), and Pasuruan (East Java) once the technical and economic study has been completed.
Umi Asngadah, Gas Director at BPHMigas, said that the study will be carried out in the first quarter of this year after the required funds from the 2014 state budget have been disbursed. The study will include aspects including feasibility of the project, readiness of gas supply, and planned tender.
?The study is expected to be completed in four months. We hope that afterward we can open tender at the end of the year,? Umi told Petromindo.com Wednesday.
Umi added that the tender for the construction of the gas distribution pipeline routes would go ahead although there are similar plans in the existing regions. State-controlled gas distribution firm PGN, for instance, plans to develop a pipeline in Lampung to be integrated with the Lampung floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), while state-owned PT Pertamina Gas plans to develop pipeline facility in Semarang to be integrated with the Central Java FSRU.
