The firm said signboards reading ?lands owned by PLTU Batang? have been erected by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) on lands that have been acquired for the project in three villages, namely Karanggeneng, Ujungnegoro and Ponowareng. The lands that have been acquired for the projects measure 226 hectares.
The construction of the project has been postponed for years due to the firm?s inability to acquire lands for the project.
BPI?s General Manager of External Relations Ary Wibowo expressed appreciation to all parties that have helped the firms acquire the lands, including the Batang regency and Central Java provincial administrations, Batang?s land agency, PLN and the central government.
He said the firm has been actively building relations with the local community, explained the project to the people there, built infrastructures around the power plant planned site and helped promoting the economy of the local people through various CSR programs.
BPI is a joint venture comprising Electric Power Development Co., Ltd., PT Adaro Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adaro Energy Tbk, and Itochu Corporation.
