BPKP finds irregularities worth Rp 966 billion at BPMIGAS

The government?s audit agency BPKP has found irregularities worth Rp 966.60 billion at BPMIGAS, the government?s agency which is in charge of supervising upstream oil and gas industry.

Kompas reported on Monday that the findings were part of the irregularities found by the agency in its audit at the government?s agencies and state owned companies during the first quarter of this year.

The findings at BPMIGAS which took over the supervision job at the country?s upstream oil and gas operations from Pertamina last year comprised of 31 cases such as related to irregularities in the payment of income tax on the severance payment worth Rp 336.63 million paid to workers of Pertamina?s processing unit Pangkalan Brandan.

The other cases included irregularities on the distribution of subsidized diesel oil of about 775 kiloliters worth Rp 351.57 million in Riau province and the unpaid income tax on the land acquisition worth Rp 597.71 million carried out by Pertamina?s marketing division in Semarang. (*)
