Oil and gas upstream sector authority BPMIGAS has asked PT Badak NGL, the operator of the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan, to produce 271 cargoes of LNG next year, lower than this year's output.

Hanung Budya. Badak NGL's president director, said the plant had produced a total of 294 cargoes of LNG as of December, higher than the annual target of 289 cargoes.

"I don't know why BPMIGAS asked us to lower production next year. We are only an operator," he said

He also said Badak has yet to receive an instruction from BPMIGAS regarding that amount of LPG that the LNG plant will have to produce next year. (bernard)
