BPMIGAS asks PEP to increase production to meet target

Upstream authority BPMIGAS has asked PT Pertamina EP (PEP), a subsidiary of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina, to increase production to meet its 2012 target of 135,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
?BPMIGAS demands Pertamina EP to meet its production target, which is now 10,000 bopd lower than target,? Deputy for Operation of BPMIGAS Rudi Rubiandini told Petromindo.com, citing PEP production in the first two months of 2012 being below target.
Director of Operation of PEP, Bagus Sudaryanto, said PEP production year to date reached 124,000 bopd, slightly lower than actual average production in 2011 of 125,000 bopd. The average production was still far below PEP?s target of 135,000 bopd for 2012.
Bagus admitted that there has been downtrend of PEP production since October 2011 to February 2012. ?We hope the production rebound again in the coming months,? he said.
He said PEP has made efforts to ramp up production to meet the 2012 target by speeding up implementation of 2012 programs.
The programs include accelerating the drilling of wells in Sukowati, Bunyu, Sanga-Sanga and and Limau fields; speeding up the procurement of Floating Production and Storage Offloading (FPSO) in Udang Natuna field in the east of Natuna; accelerating putting on production the new exploration wells and other initiatives such as reactivating aging fields.
