Upstream authority BPMIGAS and the land authority Badan Pertanahan Nasional (BPN) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation to facilitate the process of licencing land sites for oil and gas activities across the country.
?Both chairmen of BPMIGAS and BPN will sign the MOU in a ceremony scheduled next month,? BPMIGAS HSF Division Head Hadi Prasetyo told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Thursday.
?We?re now preparing the draft for the agreement. We hope the land agreement will solve all problems related to the land-licencing for oil and gas activities,? he said.
He said that the MOU between BPMIGAS and BPN would stand as a bridge to the implementation of the presidential decree (Perpres) No.7/2012 on the authority of BPMIGAS in getting the land licenses for oil and gas activities.
Hadi said that beside the land licencing, BPMIGAS was also waiting for the licensing of forest use for oil and gas activities from the ministry of forestry.
?Until August this year, there are 32 letters that we?ve delivered to the forestry ministry. We?re waiting for the ministry?s responds on the letters,? he said.
