BPMIGAS confident WMO block output can rise to 30,000 bpd

Upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS Spokesman Gde Pradnyana said that the agency is currently waiting for the results of further drilling work at the West Madura Offshore (WMO) block conducted by PT Pertamina Hulu Energy (PHE).
Gde said that BPMIGAS was optimistic that PHE could increase the block?s production this year to 30,000 bpd, compared to its previous peak of 26,000 bpd.
?We?re currently waiting (for the results) of further drilling at WMO. We?re confident that PHE can reach production at the level of 30,000 bpd,? he told Petromindo.com on Monday, adding that he is confident the success ratio in the block is quite huge.
PHE Operational Director Edi Purnomo previously told Petromindo.com that the company was in the process of completing the construction of three oil and gas offshore platforms to help facilitate the higher production target at the WMO block.
?The three platforms for KE 38B, 39 and 54 are still being constructed at the Bakrie Yard Cilegon. The first platform for KE 38B will be installed at the end of August 2012, and then followed by the two other platforms, one each month,? said Edi, adding that platform KE 40 will be installed in July of 2012.
