BPMIGAS, Defense Ministry sign agreement on protection of oil, gas facilities

Upstream oil and gas regulatory body BPMIGAS has signed a cooperation agreement on the protection of the country?s oil and gas facilities especially offshore oil and gas fields located at border areas with neighboring countries.

The cooperation agreement was signed on Thursday by the deputy chief of BPMIGAS Hardiono and the secretary general of the Defense Ministry Eris Heryanto at a ceremony which was also attended by Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro and BPMIGAS chief R. Priyono.

Besides with the Defense Ministry, BPMIGAS has also signed a similar agreement with the Indonesian Navy on security and protection of offshore oil and gas facilities. (giok)
