BPMIGAS hopes EOR project at Minas to increase output

Upstream authority BPMIGAS expects the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) program applied by Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) at the Minas field in Riau could jack up production by 100,000 bopd.
BPMIGAS Deputy for Operational Control Gde Pradnyana said that his office is currently waiting for the results of the EOR project which uses the surfactant flooding technique.
?The start of commissioning for 1 production well and six injection wells is scheduled for October 2012. CPI is currently installing the equipment. Currently, preparation progress has reached 85 percent,? Pradnyana told Petromindo.com Tuesday.
He further said that the EOR project is still considered as a pilot.
