Upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said it had completed evaluation of Plan of Development (PoD) submitted by Indonesian unit of French energy giant Total to develop its gas field in South Mahakam PSC, in East Kalimantan Mahakam Delta.

Deputy Chairman in Charge of Planning Achmad Luthfi said on Wednesday that PoD approval for Jumelai and Stupa fields is already submitted to Chairman R. Priyono.

Total E&P Indonesie plans to bring the Stupa and Jumelai gas fields discovered last year into production in the fourth quarter of 2011 or early 2012.

Both fields will produce 250 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas that will be delivered to the Senipah gas processing facility through a 67-km long pipeline. The processed gas will be then transported to the Badak LNG plant in Bontan, East Kalimantan as additional gas supplies.

The Block is equally owned by Total and Japanese firm Inpex. (bernard)
