Upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said it has approved PoD for Chevron?s North Duri phase 13 in Rokan PSC, central Sumatra.

Vice Chairman Hardiono told Petromindo.Com that the project will become onstream in the fourth quarter of 2013 with peak rate of around 17,000 BPD of oil in 2017.

The project is the extension of the previous North Duri Area 12 project, which currently produces around 42,000 BPD of oil.

Chevron currently produces 180,000 BPD of oil from Duri field.

The company?s contract in the block will expire in 2021.

Chevron, Indonesia?s number one oil producer, is currently struggling to slow down production decline from its oil fields in Central Sumatra due to reserves depletion.(godang)
