Upstream oil and gas authority BPMIGAS has been forced to use loans from state oil and gas firm Pertamina to finance its activities as the government has not yet disbursed budget funds for the agency, Koran Tempo daily reported Tuesday.
BPMIGAS had submitted to the Ministry of Finance its 2003 budget of Rp600 billion (US$=Rp8,400) last October, around two months after it was formed. So far, no response had been given, BPMIGAS deputy chairman in charge of general affairs, Usman Harahap said.
Usman did not mention the amount of money BPMIGAS had received from Pertamina.
Meanwhile, director general of state budget at the Ministry of Finance, Anshari Ritonga, said they had not yet received any financial proposal from BPMIGAS.(*)
