BPMIGAS, Petronas agree on Muriah gas price

Upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS and Malaysian oil, gas firm Petronas Carigali have reached an agreement in renegotiation over gas price on the latter?s Muriah PSC block offshore East Java.
Rudi Rubiandini, Deputy Chairman for Operation of BPMIGAS, said Petronas has agreed that there is no change on gas price. To compensate this, BPMIGAS added Petronas contract in operating the block for another four years.
?As for Muriah PSC, Petronas contract (in operating the block) is extended for another four years as part of scenario for the development of Kepodang gas field,? said Rudi Rubiandini.
He said Petronas earlier wants gas price to be raised to around US$7 per MMBTU from US$4.98 per MMBTU set in 2008.
Gas from Kepodang field in Muriah block will be supplied to PLN?s power plant in Tambak Lorok, Central Java. (bernard).
