Thursday, December 29 2011 - 02:18 AM WIB

Upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS in January next year will make an arrangement to allocate gas to small-scale power plants in 54 regency and municipality governments across the country, BPMIGAS Deputy Head for Operation Rudi Rubiandini said.

?We hope to make a decision by the end of this month or the latest the first week of January next year,? Rudi Rubiandini told Petromindo.com.

He said the volume of gas to be allocated to local governments depending on availability of gas and gas needs of local governments. He noted the gas demand varies from as low as 2 MMSCFD to 100 MMSCFD.

The gas will be used to power small-scale gas fired power plants being developed by local government owned companies (BUMD). (godang)
