BPMIGAS repeats call on BP to submit Train 3 plan

Upstream authority BPMIGAS is repeating call on British firm BP Plc, the leader of Tangguh consortium, to submit the Plan of Further Development (PoFD) for the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua.

The Tangguh consortium is planning to build third LNG production facilities at the LNG plant.

?BP is expected to submit the PoFD for Tangguh expansion project by the end of August,? BPMIGAS? Operation Control Deputy I Gde Pradnyana said on Wednesday.

Under the PoFD, a minimum 40 percent of the new project?s capacity should be allocated to the domestic market, Gde said.

Separately, M. Suryadi Mardjoeki, Oil Fuels and Gas Division Head at state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara?s (PLN), called on the government to assure the allocation of LNG from Tangguh to meet the gas needs of the firm?s power plants for next year.

?The government has said that PLN will no longer be allowed to use oil fuels starting next year. Thereby, we need LNG from Tangguh, as much as 110 bbtud for Arun plant and 100 bbtud for Jakarta Bay,? Mardjoeki said.
