Upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said that shipment of LNG from Tangguh plant in West Papua to Fujian, China, would likely be further delayed to June due to technical problems at Tangguh.
?Tangguh may be able to start LNG shipment to Fujian in June,? Chairman R. Priyono said, adding that the delay was caused by valve problems in the plant?s train.
Tangguh was initially scheduled to start shipment to Fujian in the third quarter of this year, then delayed to May.
Priyono, however, said that Fujian would still receive its first two cargoes in May from Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan. ?We are working to divert one or two cargoes of Bontang LNG to Fujian to honor our commitment,? he said, adding that Indonesia is negotiating price increase for Bontang cargoes due to its superior quality compared to that of Tangguh.
