BPMIGAS seeks stakeholders? support for permit in Aceh

The upstream authority BPMIGAS calls on all oil and gas stakeholders in Aceh province to help accelerate issuance of permits in the province.

Iwan Ratman, chief specialist to BPMIGAS Deputy for Operational Control, raised the issue on the sidelines of a visit by members of the House of Representatives? Commission VII overseeing energy to the province recently.

?We need support from House commission members, Aceh governor and local government officials to speed up permit issuance as only with such synergy our work plan and production target will be met,? said Iwan.

The commission members visited Aceh on July 16-19. They held talks with BPMIGAS officials and executives of Production Sharing Contractors (PSCs) operating in Aceh such as ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc., Medco E&P Malaka, Triangle Pase Inc, Zaratex and Petronas Carigali.

?We want to know obstacles and problems in the field, like permit issuance and contractors? efforts to optimize production according to the set target of production,? commission member Sutan Bhatoegana said.

The lawmakers also met with the Aceh deputy governor and visited PT Arun Natural Gas Liquefaction (Arun NGL) plant and state fertilizer company PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda in Lhokseumawe.
