Upstream authority BPMIGAS is currently in the process of reviewing the plan of development (POD) for the Jambaran and Tiung Biru fields in the Cepu Block, East Java, submitted by Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL).

?MCL has submitted the draft. It?s currently being discussed at BPMIGAS,? Widyawan Prawiraatmadja, Deputy for Planning at BPMIGAS, told Petromindo.com Friday.

He did not provide further details. The approval of the POD would pave way for the unitization of the two gas fields. While PT Pertamina EP holds a 100 percent interest in the Tiung Biru field, the Jambaran field is co-owned with ExxonMobil.

Separately, PT Pertamina EP President Director, Syamsu Alam, said that he was hopeful that an agreement would soon be reached on the issue of the unitization of the gas fields.

?Talks on the unitization (of the two fields) have reached the final stage and it should be concluded soon,? Syamsul told Petromindo.com.
