BPMIGAS supports PSCs plan to utilize FLNG in offshore Papua

The Head of upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS, Raden Priyono, said the regulator has agreed with the plans of a number of production sharing contractors (PSCs) operating in offshore Papua to utilize floating liquid natural gas (FLNG) facility to support their gas production.
?For the sake of cost efficiency and given the advanced technology of FLNG, BPMIGAS has approved their move,? said Priyono.
He made the comment in line with rising number of oil and gas contractors undertaking explorations and developments in offshore West Papua area.
He said currently there are a total of 27 PSCs operating in onshore and offshore Papua. Of these, six are in development stage, while the remaining 21 PSCs are in exploration stage.
PSCs that are conducting explorations are: Niko&Repsol Cendrawasih Bay II, Niko & Repsol Cendrawasih Bay III, Niko & Repsol Cendrawasih Bay IV, Exxon Cendrawasih, Genting Kasuri, Niko XVI Kofiau, Irian Petro Manokwari, BP North Arafura, Baruna & Niko Northern Papua, Nation Rombebai, Lundin Sareba, Murphy Semai II, Suma Semai III, Hess Semai V, Conoco Warim, Chevron West Papua I, Chevron West Papua III, Black & Niko West Papua IV, Pearl West Salawati, Murphy Wokam II, Total SW Bird?s Head.
