BPMIGAS: Tangguh LNG plant efficiency improves

Upstream authority BPMIGAS expects the operational efficiency of LNG Tangguh plant, operated by BP Indonesia to continue to improve this year, maintaining last year?s positive trend.

?In 2011, the operating efficiency of Tangguh LNG increased to 93 percent (from target) compared to 80 percent in previous year. We expect this operating efficiency will further rise to 93 percent this year,? Rudi Rubiandini, BPMIGAS' Deputy for Operation said during a site visit to Tangguh LNG plant in Papua.

The site visit was led by R. Priyono, BPMIGAS Chairman.

Tangguh LNG plant is currently supported by 14 wells and two trains. Each well produces about 180 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

Each train produces 3.8 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG and condensate of 6,000 barrels of oil per day (BPD).
