BPMIGAS to inaugurate new oil and gas projects

The projects which absorbed investments totaling US$921.7 million are expected to be able to increase the country?s oil and gas production. ?The inauguration of the projects still waits for the actual date from the minister of energy and mineral resources,? Amir Hamzah, the spokesman for BPMIGAS, said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The five new projects include the Tunu Phase 12 project in Delta Mahakam, East Kalimantan. The project which is operated by Total E&P Indonesia has the capacity to produce natural gas of about 630 million cubic feet per day. The total investment for this project reaches about $663 million.
The second project is the Seturian Surface Facilities owned by Chevron Indonesia, which has invested about $22.2 million for its development. The project located in East Kalimantan will produce 35 million standard cubic feet per day.
The third project is the Oyong Phase 2 gas field in Madura Strait and Pasuruan, East Java. Santos which operates the gas field has spent about $58 million for the development of the field which is expected to be able to produce 80 million standard cubic feet per day.
The fourth project is the Oil Treating Facilities and LNG Facilities owned by Hess. The project located in Gresik, East Java will be able to produce 25,000 barrels of oil per day and 6,000 barrels of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) per day. Hess has invested about $165.7 million in the project. (*)
