Upstream authority BPMIGAS warns all production sharing contractors (PSCs) operating in West Papua particularly near the Raja Ampat islands to be extra careful considering the area is environmentally sensitive.
?There are a number of PSCs currently conducting various activities including G&G study, seismic survey, and drilling work in Raja Ampat,? Deputy for Operation at BPMIGAS, Gde Pradnyana told Petromindo.com.
Chevron is currently conducting a G&G study in the area, while PSCs conducting survey to drilling activities include Genting Oil and HESS, while those already at production stage include PetroChina Salawati and BP Tangguh.
The Raja Ampat islands are known to world?s scuba divers because of their beautiful underwater environment and scenery.
