BPPT, GE team up to develop smart grid technology

The Agency for Technology Application and Assessment (BPPT) is teaming up with PT General Electric Operation Indonesia (GEOI) to develop a smart grid technology in Indonesia.
BPPT and GEOI signed an agreement on Wednesday for the cooperation, bisnis.com reported.
Head of BPPT Unggul Priyanto said that the technology will be applied on a smart grid for a 1 MW photovoltaic plant at the Puspitek building in Serpong, Banten Province.
?The smart grid technology is important to support for a more efficient, reliable and quality electricity service. GEOI is committed to support in the area of research and technology development,? he said, adding that the smart grid technology will also be applied in wind farm. (*)
