Brantas Abipraya to build mini-hydro power plants

Engineering and construction company PT Brantas Abipraya, through its newly formed subsidiary PT Brantas Energi, plans to build a number of mini-hydro power plants as part of a diversification strategy to deal with the saturated construction market.
Brantas Abipraya President Director Bambang E. Marsono told Bisnis Indonesia daily Thursday that in the first stage the company will build a 6 MW mini-hydro power plant in Bengkulu with estimated investment cost of Rp 120 billion.
Later on, the company will build more plants in four locations including West Sumatra (two units), East Java, Sulawesi, and Banten. (*)
