Brantas Energi wins photovoltaic power project in Gorontalo

PT Brantas Energi, a subsidiary of state-owned firm PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has won tender for the development of a 2MW photovoltaic power plant in Gorontalo Province, Kontan reported Wednesday.

This was said by Alihudin Sitompul, Director for New and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Brantas outbid 11 other competitors during the tender process held by the ministry in December. Brantas offers a price of 22.95 US cents per Kwh for the electricity to be sold to state-owned electricity firm PLN.

Alihudin said that investment for each MW is estimated at Rp 25 billion, thus making a total investment of Rp 50 billion for the project. Land area required for solar panel installation and power generation is about 1.2 ha for each MW. (*)
