A number of investors grouped in the Brisbane Capital Investment consortium have recently visited Kupang, the capital of East Nusa Tenggara (NNT) Province, as they plan to develop a number of solar power plants in the province, Beritasatu.com reported Monday.
The portal quoted NNT Governor Frans Lebu Raya as saying that the local governments have expressed their support to accelerate the licensing/permitting process for the power plant projects that would help increase power supply in the province to meet growing demand and end the lingering shortage.
?The local governments have given the green light for the project. The location will depend on the needs of each regencies,? Frans said.
President Joko Widodo, during a recent visit in Brisbane for the G-20 Summit, unveiled the Indonesian government?s plan to develop a total of 35,000 MW of power projects over the next five years. (*)
