IDX-listed mining firm PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) said its subsidiary PT Dairi Prima Mineral (DPM) has received a 30-year Production Permit from the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources.
BRMS said in a statement on Monday that this permit is essential to operate the company?s lead and zinc mine located near Sidikalang in North Sumatra Province.
?This is another important step forward in the development of the world class Dairi project,? said Andrew Neale, CEO & President Director of BRMS in the statement.
The Dairi deposit, known as Anjing Hitam (Black Dog) is one of the premier undeveloped lead-zinc deposits in the world, containing an estimated 1.2 million tons of zinc, 0.7 million tons of lead and over 3 million ounces of silver.
The deposit will be brought into production using a combination of underground mining and a conventional processing plant comprised of crushing, grinding, and differential froth flotation to produce separate lead and zinc concentrates, BRMS said.
The expected ore production rate as described in the company?s approved feasibility study will be 1,000,000 tons of ore per annum (approximately 3,000 t/day).
The company said a second resource on the same concession, known as Lae Jahe (Ginger Creek), which has yet to be fully defined geologically, is expected to contain a similar amount of zinc, lead and silver, and will be brought into production subsequent to the production from the Anjing Hitam deposit.
