A gas turbine power plant now being built by the Joint Operation of PT Bumi Siak Pusako and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, is expected to start commercial operation in early April 2014.
"Works on this project have been 45 percent complete," Suryadi Oemar, General Manager at the joint operation, told Petromindo.com on Thursday.
The 6x7 MVA power plant is being built at the Coastal Plain Pekanbaru (CPP) block in Riau, which is jointly operated by both firms.
"This project aims to reduce our dependence on power supplies from Chevron Pacific Indonesia and to increase reliability of power supplies for us and cut our electricity costs,? added Suryadi
