BOB BSP-Pertamina Hulu plans to drill three exploration wells in Coastal Plain Pekanbaru (CPP) block , onshore Central Sumatra this year, as part of effort to boost future production.

Senior Manager Operations Novi Sugiarto told Petromindo.Com over the week end that the three wells called Baung, Benewangi and Benemakmur will be drilled in October through to December targeting the depth of 1.00-1,200 meters.

The block currently produces 15,000 barrels of oil per day with natural annual decline rate of almost 20 percent. The block operator is trying to decrease decline rate to 8% by infill drilling and well service program.

Novi said that BOB BSP-Pertamina Hulu has completed construction of power plant, which will cut dependency from PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia (CPI). He added that gas for the power plant will be supplied by Kondur Petroselat starting June this year.

Petroselat will supply 4MMCFD of gas with price of US$7.2 per MMBTU for 10 years.

Pertamina and local government owned firm PT Bumi Siak Pusako took over the block?s operatorship from Chevron in 2002 when the contract expired.
