IDX-listed PT Baramulti Sukses Sarana Tbk (BSSR) is currently developing coal up grading technology in one of company's coal mine in Lahat, South Sumatra. Elia Yuanta, director of BSSR told Petromindo.com that the company applied upgrading technology from China.
"We upgrade our coal to be a kind of coal briquette by lowering its moisture. We are still on trial, and the technology is already on the mine site. We are just looking for the market," Elia said on the sidelines of 11th China Coaltrans conference in Beijing recently.
Elia added that the company would produce bricquett about 10,000 to 20,000 ton per month. "Hopefully, we can boost production to the level of 200,000 to 250,000 tons per annum," he said. BSSR was established in 1990, as a coal trading company and has since moved upstream to be a coal mining company.
