IDX-listed coal mining company, PT Baramulti Suksessarana, Tbk (BSSR) is focusing on spot market in its marketing strategy amid market slowdown.
Marketing Director Elia Yuanta told Petromindo.com recently that the company is offering its coal to India?s spot market.
?All our coal for export is sold on the spot market, we dare not enter into long term contracts in this kind of situation,? he said adding that the company has many existing buyers on India?s spot market.
?We have hundreds buyers from India as our product already has a well-know brand. This is our way to survive,? he said adding that 25 percent of its output is allocated for domestic market, especially for state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Lisrik Negara (PLN) and several manufacturers.
This year, the company is targeting seven million tons in sales, up from 5.2 million tons last year. The company is eyeing six million ton production from the concession of subsidiary PT. Antang Gunung Meratus (AGM), located near the town of Rantau , South Kalimantan in 2015 and another one million tons from the concession of another subsidiary PT. Baramulti Suksessarana, which is located in Loa Janan, Samarinda, East Kalimantan
