BSSR sold 1.6 million tons of coal in Q1

IDX-listed coal mining company, PT Baramulti Suksessarana, Tbk (BSSR) has successfully sold about 1.6 million ton of coal in the first quarter of 2015, sharply higher compared to the same period of last year, despite the continued depressed condition in the coal market.

Elia Yuanta, Marketing Director of the company told Petromindo.com on Monday that about 70 percent of the sales were destined for India.

?The rest were delivered to the Philippines and Thailand and some were absorbed on the domestic market,? he said adding the firm sold 1.2 million tons in the same period of last year.

Elia added that the company is eyeing a similar amount of sales in the second quarter of the year. ?We are targeting around 500,000 tons at least per month,? he said.
