Bukit Asam helps quake victims

State owned coal mining operator PT Bukit Asam has provided donations worth about Rp 43.6 million (US$1 = Rp 8,500) to help the victims of the earthquake, which hit Bengkulu province and South Sumatera's regency of Lahat recently.
Dharma Azrevi Rangkuti, the coordinator for the fund mobilization for quake victims said that about Rp 18.26 million of the donations came from workers while the Rp 25 million came from the company. He said that most of the money was used to buy basic needs such rice and construction materials for the quake victims.
He said that about Rp 33 million of the funds were used to help quake victims in Bengkulu and the other Rp 10.26 million were given to the quake victims in Lahat regency. (*)
