After an initial negative reaction, the labor union of coal mining company PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam expressed on Monday support to the company?s new management team.
The Neraca daily quoted a press statement from the labor union as saying that it gave the support after learning their vision, mission and commitment.
It added that all employees would fully support the new board of directors and would create conducive environment.
The government launched a major reshuffle at the South Sumatra-based Bukit Asam in November last year. Initially, there was strong opposition against the new board of directors including from the employees, saying that many of the board members were originated from outside the province.
The initial protest raised concern of output disruption at the giant coal miner with annual output capacity of around 10 million tons.(*)
