Bukit Asam Power Plant, a power unit of state-owned utility PT PLN, is currently in price negotiation with state-owned coal miner PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) for this year?s supply of coal to the 2x65 MW plant.
?Maybe the result will be concluded around April of this year, with the price not far from last year?s figure,? a source told Petromindo.com Wednesday.
Last year, the power company agreed to pay Rp 592,348 per ton of coal supplied by PTBAfor the period of January to December 2012. The figure is higher compared to 2011 price of Rp 575,000 per ton.
The source added that both companies are also negotiating the volume of future coal supply as the current contract will expire this year. Under the existing contract, which was signed in 2004, PTBA agreed to supply at 9.86 million tons of coal starting 2004 until Dec, 31, 2013.
