Bukit Asam, Pusri finalizing feasibility study on coal gasification project

State owned PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) and fertilizer company PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang are currently conducting feasiblity study (FS) for coal gasification project at Tanjung Enim mine mouth.

Achmad Sudarto, Bukit Asam corporate secretary, said that the FS is expected to be finalized in mid next year.

He said the share composition of the two parties involving in the project will be decided after FS is completed.

Eko Sunarko, President Director PT Pusri Palembang, said earlier that the gas from the project will be used as raw material for fertilizer to be produced by PT Pusri.

Pusri?s gas demand is projected to increase from 225 mmscfd at present 313 mmscfd after the completion of the revitalization of company?s three fertilizer plants -- Pusri II, Pusri III and Pusri IV.

Eko said Pusri Palembang targets to produce fertilizer of two million tons this year, little change from last year?s output. The output is already at maximum capacity. In the first half of this year, the company has produced 915,000 tons of fertilizer. (giok)
