Bukit Asam reports former regent of Lahat to KPK

State-owned coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk, reported former Regent of Lahat, Harunata, to the Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi = KPK) on graft allegations relating to his awarding permits to 34 private companies on concession areas belonging to Bukit Asam.

President Director of Bukit Asam Milawarma said that the former regent's policy of granting mining permits to 34 companies on the areas covering 26,000 hectares that belong to Bukit Asam has caused asset losses to the State.

?PTBA suffers financial losses of almost Rp206 billion spent for exploration in the area,? President Director of Bukit Asam, Milawarna, accompanied by Bukit Asam?s President Commissioner Patrialis Akbar, told reporters at the KPK office.
