Bukit Baiduri records production, sales increase

East Kalimantan-based coalminer PT Bukit Baiduri Enterprise has recorded first semester coal production increase by 31.5 percent to 1.184 million metric tons compared to the same period last year.

In the same period, coal sales had also increased to 1.167 million metric tons from 807,000 metric tons last year, company?s production staff, Sumarjono, told Petromindo.Com Tuesday.

?Bukit Baiduri operation was running as usual,? Sumarjono said, adding that all coal products in the period were exported to Taiwan, India, Thailand, and Japan.

Bukit Baiduri?s mine concession is located about 17 kilometers from Mahakam River in East Kalimantan. Earlier, company president director, R. Kasenda said Bukit Baiduri planned to increase coal output to around 2.5 million tons this year from 2.04 million metric tons last year.(robert)
