Bukit Sunur failed to meet 2001 production target

Thursday, January 10 2002 - 10:15 AM WIB

Bengkulu based coal mining firm PT Bukit Sunur said on Thursday that it failed to meet production target of 600,000 tons in 2001.

?Bukit Sunur only managed to produce 460,000 tons of coal in 2001,? Medang K. Widjaya, from the company?s marketing department told Petromindo.Com.

Medang said the failure to reach production target was mainly due to unfavorable weather condition.

However, Medang said that in 2002, Bukit Sunur planned to boost production to 800,000 tons by joint operations with mining contractor PT Petrosea, a subsidiary of Australia?s Clough Engineering. (godang)
