Buma bags new mining contract with Berau Coal

Indonesia?s second biggest coal contracting firm PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (Buma) has bagged a new 5-year coal mining and overburden removal contract from East Kalimantan coal miner PT Berau Coal.

The contract for Berau's Lati block was signed in March 2011 and is effective from 2011 until 2016.

The contract covers mining and overburden removing activities that are part of Berau?s expansion plan in Lati. Buma is holding a contract from Berau to carry out coal mining and overburden removal starting December 1998-December 2018.

Berau expects to boost its coal production to 30 million tonnes per year in 2014 from 20 million tonnes, currently. (denny)
