BUMA to assist DEWA to mine Bengalon

Mining contractor PT Delta Dunia Makmur Tbk (BUMA) is in talks with other mining contractor PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) to team up to conduct mining activities at PT Kaltim Prima Coal?s (KPC) Bengalon mine in East Kalimantan, Kontan daily reported.

DEWA and KPC are both controlled by parent company IDX-listed mining giant PT Bumi Resources Tbk.

According to the report, DEWA has 10-year contract with KPC which will expire in 2014 with the value of US$1.8 billion.

In 2008, DEWA mined 6 million tonnes of coal for KPC in Bengalon.(*)
