IDX-listed coal giant PT Bumi Resources Tbk is on track to meet first quarter coal production target of 22-23 million tons despite the current rainy season.
This was said by Bumi Director Dileep Srivastava to Petromindo.com on Tuesday. He said that coal production in the first two months are still ?on track? although the production figure has yet to come out.
Srivastava said that the company, which operates mines in South and East Kalimantan provinces, is also optimistic to be able to meet this year?s production target of more than 90 million tons.
"We are more immune to weather condition than others due to mechanized high speed mega volume pair of conveyors in KPC, and we should do about 22-23 million ton in the first quarter of this year," he said, referring to East Kalimantan subsidiary PT Kaltim Prima Coal.
Earlier, he revealed that in January the company produced around 8 million tons.
